W.W. Nichols及其同事从一位16周女婴的肺中取材，建立了人二倍体成纤维细胞株IMR-90。 [22381] 分裂潜能，病毒感受性和其它性质都得到了充分研究，因而这株细胞可以作为WI-38或其它标准人肺细胞株的替代株。 有报道称这株细胞在表现出衰老前可倍增58次。 [22381]
